The History of RSVP


ANDREW COUNTY RSVP is sponsored by ANDREW COUNTY MINISTRIES and the CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL SERVICE.
Our organization has been in operation for 30 years. The ANDREW COUNTY RSVP hired its first Director in 1974 Our volunteers are age 55 and older who find worthwhile service by helping others in their community. In July 2001 we started expansion into the Nodaway County area.
The RSVP is funded through local contributions, fundraising, and a grant from THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL SERVICE.

The Senior Center and OATS


Serves lunch Monday thru Friday at 12 noon with entertainment following on most days. Donations accepted.

There is a monthly birthday party for seniors 60 & over on the 4th Thursday of every month.

Every Wednesday is 13 point pitch night at 7pm.
The 2nd Thur.of every month is Old Country Friends at 7pm (bring a snack).

The Oats bus needs riders every Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

Call 816-324-5212 for a ride.

The Oats bus goes to St. Joseph on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month.

As a volunteer you can:

Check on Seniors and the homebound regularly.

Transport others to the Dr. and shopping.

Tutor students at our local schools.

Help out at the local Library.

Join one of our music ensembles to provide entertainment at area nursing homes.

Greet visitors at our local museum.

Help collect and distribute food at the local food pantry.

Assist in the Oats or Senior Center office.

Serve on a committee.

Make blankets for the less fortunate.

Make great new friends.

Help out the community
